Dusty Rhodes greets Goldust backstage and talks about family, but Goldust says Cody will think twice about putting facepaint on again. Goldust says he will take care of this, but Dusty says he loves both of his sons.
Goldust vs Stardust
Goldust asks for a handshake but Stardust slaps his hand away, then Stardust hiptosses him and Goldust throws him in the corner. Stardust goes to lock up but feigns and kicks Goldust in the stomach, then he goes for a bulldog but Goldust slams him on the mat. Stardust rolls outside to regroup, then Goldust kicks him a few times before heading up top. Stardust slams him down and stomps him in the corner, then he rolls outside and shoves Goldust into the apron. He rolls Goldust back in and applies a waistlock, but Goldust shoves him back and Cody calls for Dark Matter. Goldust drops down and snapmares him, then he rolls Stardust up for the win.
Winner – Goldust
BP: This was a bit of an anticlimatic ending, but a decent match. Not sure if I’m reading too much into it, but this is the first time Stardust wore ring gear that wasn’t a bodysuit. Maybe it’s Stardust hinting at a character change, maybe it’s not. Hopefully we see more at Wrestlemania.
Goldust talks to Dusty Rhodes about doing what he had to, but Stardust laughs as he walks over. He slams Goldust into an equipment case, then he hits him a few times and yells at his father. He says it’s Dusty’s fault for sending him a “bag of bones” and an Attitude Era reject, then he kicks Goldust and walks away.

Jey kicks out but Kidd rolls through, and he applies a Sharpshooter but Jimmy superkicks him. Jimmy and Cesaro slug it out and end up fighting to the floor, then Jey stops Cesaro from running in but Kidd hits him with a fisherman’s neckbreaker for the win.
Winners and NEW WWE Tag Team Champions – Cesaro & Tyson Kidd
Triple H enters the ring and says tempers flare but there are apologies made, and he stands by with his words, but he is the King of Kings in WWE. HHH says he waits for Sting, then Sting’s music cues up and he walks to the ring, so HHH says he wants to cut to the chase. He says he knows why Sting is there because he ‘is’ WCW, but HHH is just one guy who put him out of business, and failure follows Sting. HHH says he could give Sting his legacy and power back, and all it will take is Sting walking away, because he can live on through the WWE Network. HHH implies he will put Sting in the WWE Hall of Fame if he steps away, then HHH says they can do it the hard way and he’ll beat a legacy out of him. HHH says he won’t wait long for an answer, and he can see Sting already chose, then he takes a cheap shot, but Sting swings right back at him. HHH tackles Sting and hits him a few times, then he stomps him and gets a sledgehammer from underneath the ring. Sting blocks it and puts a baseball bat under HHH’s chin, then he backs him into the corner and HHH drops the sledgehammer. Sting points at the Wrestlemania sign, then HHH calls it Sting’s funeral, and Sting walks away but HHH tries to attack him. Sting turns and hits him with the bat, then he looks up at the Wrestlemania sign and hits a Scorpion Death Drop before leaving.
BP: A bit anticlimactic, but still great to see the match finally set up. Even if you didn’t expect the match to be set up, HHH wearing a leather jacket and taping his fists up was a dead giveaway. Either way, it’s a good match for Mania 31.

Nikki rolls her back in and Paige hits a clothesline and a dropkick, then Nikki heads up top but Paige kicks her in the face and tries to slam her. Wade tries to leave but Ambrose splashes him and throws him back inside, but Wade once again tries to leave so Ambrose slams him on the barricade. Ambrose stomps him a few times and the ref backs him away, then he stomps him a few more times before rolling outside. Ambrose grabs the IC title from the floor as the ref rings the bell, then Ambrose hits him again and leaves with the title.
Winner (by disqualification) – Bad News Barrett
BP: This was a stupid way to end the match, and a stupid way to continue a feud through Wrestlemania.
A group of druids walk out and light some torches, then a casket is wheeled out to the ring. The lid is lifted and Bray Wyatt sits up, and he asks if they can feel it, because he can feel ‘him'; weak and broken like them. Bray says ‘his’ soul is lost, but he can send ‘him’ home, and his mission is to do so, because Bray Wyatt is the face of fear. He says he will go to Wrestlemania, and he will claim the soul of the Undertaker, then he lays back and the druids close the casket lid.
BP: The match that was more obvious than Sting/HHH, or at least the biggest rumored, is now happening. This was a great promo for Bray; it called out Undertaker, used his strengths and still leaves plenty of room for Undertaker to answer the challenge and continue to cut promos.
United States Championship
John Cena vs Rusev (c)
Rusev knees Cena a few times and spin kicks him, then he splashes him in the corner and gets a two count. Rusev tackles Cena into the barricade and gets a near fall, then he stops a comeback from Cena an elbows him for a near fall. Winner – Rusev
Roman Reigns vs Daniel Bryan
Bryan applies a headlock and Reigns fights out with some punches, then he throws a few elbows and hits a few fallaway slams. Reigns goes for a Superman punch but Bryan counters with a quick strike to the ribs. Bryan repeatedly kicks him in the ribs and sends him into the corner, but Reigns hits him a few times and powerbombs him for two. Reigns slams him but Bryan comes back with a YES Lock, then Reigns breaks it at the ropes and rolls outside. Bryan tries to dive on him but Reigns rolls away and sets up a spear, and Bryan steps aside and slams him into the ring steps. Bryan heads up top but Reigns connects with a diving punch on the way down, then calls for a spear but Bryan ducks and gets a two count rollup. Bryan kicks him in the face and connects with Knee Plus, but Reigns kicks out of the pin attempt and Bryan starts to kick Reigns in the chest. Reigns blocks the final kick and Bryan chops him a few times, then he rolls into a YES Lock and tries to get Reigns to tap out. Reigns rolls through and connects with repeated forearm strikes, then Bryan applies a choke armbar but Reigns deadlifts him and slams him. Bryan connects with several kicks and calls for Knee Plus again, but Reigns jumps and catches him with a spear for the win.
Winner – Roman Reigns
Bryan gets in Reigns’ face after the match, and he says he’d better kick his [Lesnar’s] ass, and shakes his hand before leaving.
BP: It was a good match; I’ll still go and say it was designed to please Bryan fans for the Rumble, and solidify Reigns as the ‘rightful’ contender. It wasn’t great, and I’d even say Bryan carried most of it, but Reigns hit the big power moves when it mattered. The good part of tonight was we got to see three Mania matches solidified; they were also pretty much confirmed, but HHH/Sting, Taker/Wyatt and Reigns/Lesnar are looking good on paper with plenty to build on each.
